Pleasing Everyone is a Futile Pursuit
People have different wants, needs, and opinions. If you try to please everyone, you're going to run into a problem when you realize this. It's impossible to do it honestly. In order to try and make everyone happy, you'll have to lie to some and hide things from others.
Eventually, secrets will be revealed and absolutely no one will be happy.
Then, the exhausted person in the middle of it all becomes a victim of their own creation while also receiving no sympathy from those they hurt with deception along the way.
You have to decide what your own wants, needs, and beliefs are. Act fairly and with consideration, but if people disagree with your choices, that doesn't mean immediately change your choices.
They may be angry or disappointed, and they may even decide to leave your life entirely. But if that happens, it means they were no longer aligned with who you are. They should be free to be alone or seek out others who they are more aligned with rather than you try to change them or they try to change you into people better suited for each other.
Not all endings are wrong. Some are even overdue. Things change and run their course. The wrong thing would be to try and force an extension of something that should end for the best outcome for everyone involved.
