Not all pain is visible
One of the meanest things a person can do is dismiss a pain they've never felt. Their intention may be to encourage but their method leaves a sting. It's adding insult to injury to be told to "just get over" something. That doesn't help at all.
Don't share your feelings about it with that person again. They've shown you that although they care, they're unable to empathize.
Seek healing instead through someone who has been there; a friend, counselor, or support group.
Healing is possible, though difficult, but it's made a little easier with the help of those who understand.
Healing is a process. Whether it be physical, mental, or emotional. The last thing you need is to be guilted about having pain. It takes courage to express it and it needs to come out.
