Time spent

Of all the things I’ve been given,
Of all the things I got,
Turns out the biggest things
meant only a little,
And the littlest things meant a lot.
I worked months for nice clothes,
And years for a car,
And though they’re nice
And took me far...…
A kiss, a hug, a kind word, a smile...
They cost nothing
But the time spent.
But those times in life
Were life itself
And I’m grateful
For every moment.
